PROFILE

As with all employees at Mentoring Alliance (MA), the Area Director is considered a minister of the gospel. The AD is a Christ-follower who sets an example for believers and nonbelievers and leads a life above reproach. MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Area Director is to provide leadership and program supervision for Mentoring Alliance After School programs.


KEY RESULT AREAS

1. Manage Program:

  • Support the hiring process through the management of pipeline, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Lead, manage, and coach staff at assigned site(s).
  • Contribute to the overall culture of Mentoring Alliance and its programs through a healthy attitude, work ethic, relationship building, and adherence to MA team values.
  • Build and maintain discipleship relationships with staff to support their professional and spiritual development.
  • Participate in ongoing training activities, including developing content, leading sessions, or supporting planning efforts.

2. Recruit, Lead, and Manage Staff:

  • Ensure all site(s) staff positions are filled and that the individual goal for recruiting staff is met.
  • Participate in recruiting efforts to fully staff the regional program.
  • Support the hiring process through the management of pipeline, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Lead, manage, and coach staff at assigned site(s).
  • Contribute to the overall culture of Mentoring Alliance and its programs through a healthy attitude, work ethic, relationship building, and adherence to MA team values.
  • Build and maintain relationships with staff to support their professional and spiritual development.
  • Participate in ongoing training activities, including developing content, leading sessions, or supporting planning efforts.

3. Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all safety measures are implemented and followed at assigned site(s).
  • Work with regional staff to ensure safety audits are able to be completed at assigned site(s).
  • Respond to all safety audit findings or concerns within the timeframe laid out in safety policies.
  • Respond quickly and proactively to any safety incident or crisis, including managing situations with site staff, contacting regional MA leadership, informing or collaborating with school or district partners, and contacting local authorities if appropriate.
  • Complete all required documentation and reporting as laid out in MA policies and as required by region.

4. Partnerships and Community Engagement:

  • Build working relationships with school leadership or other appropriate community partners to ensure the success of the program at assigned site(s).
  • Engage with children and parents at assigned site(s) to build relationships.
  • Be available to respond to any questions or concerns raised by children, families, or other partners.

5. Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Serves on appropriate committees and attends staff meetings, board meetings, and other staff functions
  • Strengthens teamwork, collaboration, alignment, morale, transparency, credibility, and trust throughout the ministry
  • Fulfills necessary tasks, projects, or roles as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or experience equivalency
  • Ability to work with others
  • Excellent communication skills
  • At least 6 months experience working in a licensed child-care setting.
