What You'll Do
As a Computer Science Curriculum Developer, your responsibilities will include:
Creating Engaging Content: Design courses, lesson plans, coding challenges, projects, assessments, and solution guides for both in-person and online learning.
Collaborating and Iterating: Review and provide feedback on materials developed by other team members, while incorporating constructive feedback into your own work.
Improving Existing Content: Update and refine existing educational materials based on feedback from students, teachers, and performance analytics.
Teaching and Mentoring: Interact with students by teaching online or in-person courses, sharing your expertise, and inspiring curiosity.
Strategic Planning: Partner with leadership to brainstorm and plan new curriculum material.
Staying Current: Research advancements in computer science and education to ensure the curriculum stays innovative and relevant.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate brings:
Teaching Experience: Experience teaching computer science to groups, ideally high school or advanced middle school students.
Curriculum Development Skills: Proven ability to develop computer science curricula, especially for topics at or beyond traditional data structures courses.
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and various programming paradigms (object-oriented, functional, scripting).
Programming Proficiency: Expertise in at least one of these languages: C++, Java, or Python.
Strong Communication: Excellent writing skills to craft clear, engaging, and precise educational materials.
Bonus Skills:
Expertise in data science, artificial intelligence, or machine learning algorithms.
Experience with computer science competitions.
What We Offer
Competitive Compensation: Base salary ranging from $85,000-$102,500, with an additional 4% year-end bonus. Senior-level candidates may earn between $102,500-$130,000.
Work Location Options: This role is based in San Diego but can be performed remotely.
