Job Title: Director of Risk Management and Safety
Location: West Springfield, MA
Salary Rate: $150,000 - $180,000

My client is an aggerate supplier who have been in business for over 50 years. We are looking for a director of risk management and safety who has experience with OSHA, and strong knowledge of construction safety. If that sounds like you let's connect!

Responsibilities:

• Direct and coordinate all activities for safety managers to conduct worksite audits and inspections.
• Monitor health and safety regulations of the workplace.
• Implement and lead a strategy to assure 100% safety compliance.
• Assist all supervisors with investigation of workplace incidents and ensure accurate claims reporting.
• Personal conduct investigations into all major incidents.
• Ensure employees receive proper training year-round.
• Develop a reporting system to collect data on all incidents accurately.
• Work close with company leadership across all operations to strategize on incident prevention.
• Coordinate with logistics and construction leaders to develop and manage trucker and subcontractor qualification processes.
• Work with operations to ensure the integrity of emergency systems and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Safety and Health, Risk or construction management, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA & MSHA.
• 5+ years of experience in a management role.
• Knowledge of health and safety management systems and principals.
• 10+ years of experience in safety and workplace health.
• Ability to travel though the Northeast (up to 25%)
• Ability to (occasionally) respond to night or weekend events.
• Safety certifications are beneficial.
• Experience with road construction, quarries, or asphalt plants preferred.
