Job Description

We are searching for a Senior Medical Director in St. Louis, MO. The Senior Medical Director will be responsible for leading our provider teams in the local market. In this role, the Senior Medical Director will partner with the Regional Vice President to achieve operational and clinical excellence and deliver world-class performance in hospital admissions, quality, patient satisfaction, clinician satisfaction, and medical cost management. 

To maintain a close connection with our patients, the Senior Medical Director will practice primary care in our clinics 2 1/2 days per week. Reporting to the Executive Medical Director for the region, the Senior Medical Director will develop physician leadership among providers throughout the market, supported by Provider Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage provider teams to achieve clinical and operational goals.
  • Partner with the Regional Vice President to drive excellence in hospital admissions, quality, patient satisfaction, clinician satisfaction, and medical cost management.
  • Practice primary care in our clinics 2 1/2 days per week to stay connected with patients.
  • Report to the Executive Medical Director for the region.
  • Develop physician leadership in providers across the market.
  • Utilize a metrics-driven approach to analyze cost, quality, and satisfaction data to inform clinical strategy and program redesign.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in outpatient practice.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a physician management role or as a medical director, managing a medical group of 20 or more providers.
  • Extensive experience in clinical leadership roles, with a track record of leading and coaching physicians.
  • Experience with managed care and/or value-based practice and familiarity with payer-provider collaboration.
  • Proficiency in using a metrics-driven approach to analyze data for cost, quality, and satisfaction to drive clinical strategy and program improvements.
