General Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related field. Two years relevant specialist experience or experience in a related field. Experience in Higher Education is desirable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Performs highly advanced specialist duties for the Financial Aid Department.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Performs highly advanced specialist duties. Accountable for the execution and follow through of complex and technical responsibilities. Plans, develops, implements, coordinates and monitors programs or services. Responds to information requests. Oversees and manages day to day needs for the Eligibility area related to Financial Aid and Scholarships. Processes loan certifications and loan revisions. Reviews output files from daily loan files received. Maintains moderately complex files. Coordinates and implements departmental processes. Monitors projects and reports. Develops, coordinates, tests, and implements assigned processes. Provides assistance with and interprets policies and reports. Develops, builds, and executes processes related to student's financial aid eligibility processes. Manages and monitors Cost of Attendance, Satisfactory Academic Progress, Texas Grant, Loan Revisions, All F's, and Federal Aid Eligibility Validation reports. Develops processes and maintains and updates manuals, policies/procedures. Makes modifications as needed to maintain best practices. Represents the university and Financial Aid and Scholarships Office at specified regional and national professional association conferences and professional development workshops. Participates in consulting calls to improve or update processes related to Financial Aid. Performs other related duties as assigned.
