Job Description

The Music department is seeking to hire one student employee to serve as a student assistant and jazz band manager.

Rate of Pay: $15.57 per hour. Starting January 1 2025: $15.97 per hour

Duration: Academic Year 202425 (Spring Semester)

Essential job functions include but are not limited to:

• Assist the Director Fine Arts Coordinator and administrative assistant with coordination and management of the jazz band ensemble jazz band tour and other departmental performances
• Act as the main student contact & coordinator for the annual high school jazz band festival
• Function as music librarian for the jazz band
• Perform general office duties as needed

Qualifications :

Must have successfully completedand/or have registered forMUE 134 (Jazz). This helps to establish qualifications to function effectively as music librarian and jazz manager

• Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at Augsburg University for the academic year 202425.
• Must be work studyeligible. For questions about your financial aid package please contact 
• Must be able to read music to be able to perform duties as music librarian jazz band manager
• Be familiar with rehearsal and performance logistics of jazz band ensembles
• Exhibit strong leadership skills
• Good communication skills: inperson phone written
• Attention to detail
• Able to maintain confidentiality
• Able to work with little to no supervision initiative to take on projects and problem solve
